A Night on the Courts: The Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation Gala

Nearly 850 “mixed doubles” were wined and dined last Saturday evening on the courts of Mt. Kisco’s Saw Mill Club to benefit the Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation.  The annual gala evening — dubbed this year as the “Taste Of Tuscany” — opened with a “serve” of  butlered small bites and a wall of prosecco inspired cocktails that included Amore Fizzante, Aperol Ruby Negroni, Prosecco Sparkler and a Pomegranate Bellini.

Our “second serve” featured an antipasti of grilled shrimp with Tuscan white beans, all presented in a radicchio cup alongside a family-style service of Tuscan Charcuterie, Vegetable Caprese and Pane Toscano.

The crowd “loved” the cameo appearances by hospital staff on the big screen while guests used their cell phones to text pledges to support the NWH’s continued growth in expertise, humanity and technology (ultimately raising nearly $1,100,000!).

Prior to dessert and dancing, guests were treated to refreshing Limoncello Granita on a bed of lavender and sugar before being invited to move  “over the net” to Courts 1 & 2 for a Viennese dessert display filled with an abbondanza of Italian sweets.  While the “doubles” danced to the music of the Starlight Orchestra, “singles” delighted in butlered sweets, signature coffee drinks and lots of conversation.

At the stroke of midnight, AK signature gelato carts appeared in the exit areas for a final “serve” of mini ice cream cones for guests as they departed.

All in all, the night was a “grand slam”!
